As a result of the collaboration over the past period, I have
learned from other people’s working methods to start a
project out of complete personal interest. I have noticed
myself often starting at something with the attitude to make
something great instead of the attitude to learn something.
I realize that the desire for perfection and the focus on
the end result is blocking the development of my design
process.

In my last feedback, my process was described as
thorough with a powerful starting point. Though, I’m not
including this in the stage of prototyping to execution. This
very clearly expresses my experienced displeasure during
the project.

I’m going to implement these two findings about my
working method in the next two weeks (and further...).
Now, the explicit description of my project for the plus
week.
Because of the SCC assignment, I got inspired by Irma
Boom. Since then, I wanted to experiment with the
architecture of a book (the book as a 3D object) myself. So,
I am making a book.
To focus on the stage of prototyping to execution, I am
going to make use of modelling of the object in the early
stages.
The theme of the book will be: developments and changes.
This is primarily about my personal developments and
changes over the past few months, but it can also be
extended to developments that I observe around me.
I have noticed the need to process certain events and
changes of the past period. I feel it’s a nice way to do this
by translating these events into a tangible book.

I will keep track of my process by photographing all my
models and sketches. On hotglue, I will organize these
photos with descriptions of my decisions and actions.
Plus+plan
Concept
A representation of two closing life cycles.

Over the past few months, I've seen life come and go differently. Death by illness, death by old-age and an abortion were processed. At the same time, births were celebrated.
The differences and similarities between end of life due to old age and abortion intrigued me.
I wanted to reflect these differences and similarities in the form of a book.

The book consists of two sections: a black one (shows the course of abortion) and an orange one (shows the course of death due to old age). The two courses can be viewed side by side to be compared.

The book can be viewed from two sides: one side contains all even pages, the other side contains all odd pages.

The 'orange' and 'black' pages with the same theme are not directly next to each other. You will combine the right pages while flipping the two sections in opposite order. In this way, the comparison is not shown as an obvious fact.
